Tongass Federal Credit Union, Hoonah, AK

We attempted to secure a mortgage loan through Tongass FCU. Our credit was checked as is standard practice, however the representative claimed that I had past delinquent credit accounts in collections… which was not true. When requested if she could provide me a copy with whatever documentation she’s seeing that displays these collections, she refused to do so. I had my credit run by another bank and they could not see these mystery collections accounts that Tongass claimed I have, and reached pre-approval no issue with them. None of my personal credit checks run could uncover these mystery collections accounts either. If you’re looking for a pre-approval on a mortgage loan for a new home, avoid this bank. You will take an unnecessary credit check hit just to be told lies about your credit history.
