I have had a client who used SMG mortgage to get a loan on a house and they were under contract starting 6/22/22. The original closing date was 7/25/22. We couldn’t make that closing date. Mortgage advisor would barely pick up the phone or return texts. Barely kept us in the loop. Gave different reasons for not being able to close so we moved to 8/8/22. I only knew we weren’t closing because the closing attorney told me title hasn’t even been requested. We requested the 18th as closing but the mortgage advisor couldn’t even guarantee that. Ended up losing the house because they couldn’t guarantee anything, I’m not sure the paperwork ever even got put in. President of the company didn’t even call the listing agent to smooth things over. Not only would I not recommend these folks I would advise people not to use them.

The SMG Mortgage team helped us qualify for mortgage quickly. This allowed us to make a solid offer on a home and get the home we wanted. We'll definitely use them again next time.

Horrible experience with this company. Complete waste of time and funds on securing a loan for an overpriced manufactured home. There were so many hidden fees added to the loan making the LTV well over 117%…. I lost $900 for an appraisal to came back 80k shy of home purchase price. Lots of promises n failed follow thru from the agent.
