I had an absurd APR with them of 33%, but that was due to my credit at the time of opening the loan so I don't fault them for that. When my credit improved, I started looking at other options. Got a flyer from them for a 2% APR reduction, not much, but I figured that would be pretty easy. Nope. Ideally I wanted no new loan, just the reduction, and they couldn't do that. Got talked into a $500 loan to achieve the reduction, fine, I can always just turn right back around and make a $500 payment. After a few days of back and forth, I got denied. It's 2%, had they taken the "Lending done Human" approach, and not relied on an algorithm to review the application, maybe it would have been another story. Days later I got another brochure in the mail for a new loan, naturally I inquired and they were a lot more optimistic about getting in more debt. I found the whole experience off putting and looked for another lender. Ended up with Lending Club at 17% APR, still not the best APR but far more aligned with my current improved credit. I didn't feel like OneMain was there to help, it honestly felt more like a cash advance loan. One note on the APR, it was disclosed when signing the loan, but never again did it show on my statements. My credit card has APR listed, along with amount and time if you only do minimum. Just felt like the APR was trying to be hidden.

Worse customer service. I have called 4 times now and each time it’s a different answer. When you start questioning them they get angry and there tone changes. I have been a non problematic client with no bad history and the one time I need to differ a payment for financial issues, rudeness is what I get. FYI their differ payment doesn’t differ a payment at all. They still take half of your payment and only differ 1/2 of it. They were not very clear on that. Therefore, it’s a partial payment and a full payment deferral.

In my experience I had no problems with this branch when it came to paying my bill now that my loan is almost paid off, while trying to contact this specific branch about releasing my title information or “proof of permission” so that I can register the vehicle in a different state they dropped they ball.
•Cassandra told me it’s too difficult and to just call back while I was at the DMV. (I fell for it) they didn’t want to answer their business phone. I wasted a day off work for this and it wasn’t important to them.
•When they did answer, I was told that closing a deal was more important than dealing with the title and an existing customer. But I should leave a message so the branch manager could get back to me.
They didn’t even call me back.
Then when I called them they were more interested in the tone I took with them rather than the issues at hand. The male employee hung up on me and then right after that the Branch Manager Cassandra hung up on me. I’ve never had an issue with these people or this branch when they need something but the moment you need some assistance they will POOP all over you.

I needed an auto equity line of credit to pay for an emergency issue. I applied over the phone with a girl named Brittney. While she took my info I realized she had no clue what she was doing. She told me I would hear from them regarding my decision. When I didnt hear back after a day I contacted them. I finally got ahold of Sergio who basically had to to redo my entire packet because she had done it all incorrectly, he also said I would hear back from them. 2 more days and me calling them repeatedly, I hear back, this time from another guy. He informed me I was approved and instructed me to have to added as the lien holder on my truck, which I did. Once it was all complete, I called Sergio. He then told me that there was an issue with my income and I no longer qualified. Nothing changed with my income, they had all this information before hand. Now Im stuck with them as my lien holder and cant go through another bank until they release liability on my truck. This set me back another 2 weeks minimum. So overall they have cost me 3 weeks min and tons of grief due to their incompetence. I would never recommend them to anybody.

I'm a current customer in good standing. I experienced some car problems and submitted an application for an additional loan. I called a total of 8 times, and only spoke with Sergio about the request once. every other time over 4 days I was told that I'd be called back. It even took me to make the call to find out I was denied. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service. I'll never use them again.

Easiest & Fastest process for a loan I’ve ever done. Brittany from El Cajon/San Diego was especially attentive, helpful, professional and very relatable! I would do again with her!
