Umpqua Bank, Fortuna, CA

Visiting our son, my wife and daughter went in to the Fortuna branch to get ten dollars of quarters to do his laundry. They were told to go to Safeway. When my wife asked, why a bank is unable to make change, she was told that they could offer no service if not connected to an account. I hope this was just the inertness of the employees and not the practices of the institution. If I lived in this small close knit community, I would definitely let everyone I knew know the lack of care and compassion that these tellers are offering. They headed over to Tri Counties Bank and were rewarded with the change and amazingly warm smiles. ….just like we’ve come to enjoy from others we’ve met on our visits to Fortuna.
