This is my second loan using Scott Hellar with Terra Mortgage and I just can't say enough great things about them. I had a bad experience before finding Scott. I was working with a friend who seemed to have all the answers but wound up being unresponsive, taking too much time, and the closing costs were going to be outrageous. I changed lenders after being referred to Terra Mortgage and I'm so thankful. Not only did Scott take my calls and answer my emails on weekends, they even got a better rate and I paid almost 5k less in closing costs!! I just bought a second home 2 years later and I didn't think it was going to be possible but Scott made it happen. He works with more lenders than just the usual big banks and credit unions so you have more options. I talked to someone at my credit union but they couldn't even offer me what Scott did. Big banks don't shop around and they ONLY take people with 20% down and I didn't QUIIIITE have that. Private lenders and companies like Terra Mortgage can take a chance on you when a big bank would turn you away. Scott and his team moved quickly and got us pre-apprived. We were making offers on a house within a week of me giving him all my financials and 48 hours later we had an accepted offer. So here I am, a self employed hair dresser who owns two houses, writing this review from the patio of my gorgeous new home. A tip for everyone: Choosing a good realtor is a MUST, but you and your home loan are going to be together for the next 30 years so make sure you get a good one. Talking to a lender is step one. Scott will make it easy.
