California Check Cashing Stores, Oakland, CA

They have 2 people working on a Friday. Extremely slow service and it is dirty AF in this location. The fact that their air registers are caked with grime and dirt is a problem. Only came here because B of A on college is closed due to flooding and needed a money order. I will never be back here. If you don't have pride in the asthethetics of your business and obviously don't give AF about what your employees or customers are breathing, I don't give AF about ever coming back here. Edit: so that was written while standing in line for 30 minutes. The 2 ladies working there today were very nice although they were slammed... adding a star just for the good customer service by the staff working today. But the management should be ashamed to have them sitting there inhaling all that bs from the vents.

The person working the phone at 8:39 on the 26th of August 2020 should not be employed there. She was rude, disrespectful, short & hung up in my face twice before I could even ask a question. How is it my fault that 7 of your locations didn’t have $3,000 to handle my transfer? I simply wanted to know if this establishment could handle the transaction. Instead I was bombarded by pure disrespect and unprofessional behavior. As long as she is employed there I will be earning friends and associates to do business elsewhere.

Super long lines, super slow cashiers pretty much sums this place up. In addition to that they charge 5% for money orders if using a debit card! Pretty rediculous imo... I'll never go back, BTW, there is a post office across the street that charges $1.50...

The onlyvreason I am even giving 1 star is because negative stars are not available. This place is horrible. 8 people in line, 5 people behind the glass. 4 employees are playing around and being very loud, one person very slowly taking customers while loudly making sure she was part of the "cool kids" by laughing obnoxiously loud and for far too long. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, spent another 30 minutes at the window while the girl was doing, who knows what.. Then I am told my customer declined the check they JUST wrote. My customer called me while I was still there and told me they approved it. The "cashier" completely lied to me. Not going here again.

Usually my experience here isnt memorable and that's a good thing. What's night the manager was Snappy and rude for no reason. I've been coming here for about 10 years it really just was uncalled for. I understand I work in service but I just can't see myself behaving that way under any circumstances really. Other than that a clean well-run and efficient location for these kind of services.

Bree was some of the best customer service I had in years very patient and motivated to help if you’re ever at this check cashing place. Make sure you come and see her. The energy is great. A VERY big thank you to Bre & Salina! I had an issue with my disability/maternity check and after working with Bank of America & Western Union, to essentially “pay myself” it was these two ladies to helped me get my money sorted out. Bre helped me over the phone to figure out if their location was a good fit for what I needed (it was!) and Salina helped set up a new account and then issue the money orders. Great customer service, with knowledgeable employees. A+!
