The people at Sierra Central credit union have always been very professional, yet polite and home town friendly and always help me with whatever issues I may have. You don't get bogged down with "big bank" red tape BS and they're easy to get a hold of and talk with.
I think any issues people may have is because they expect big bank operations from a credit union and don't understand what the differences may be.
I've had accounts there for years and have never had a problem. So, don't listen to other people, even me. Just go down and talk to them yourself and find out if they're the match for you.

They started out great but the banking app always sucked, if you mistype your password they will lock your account til you physically go into the bank whenever they are open. My fiance works out of town all weekdays and he makes credit card payments on the atms because they are always closed on weekends when he is free, but now they keep locking him out of his account til he goes in person which he cant do that all the time because his work hours and he works out of town without any sierra centrals, which he always tells them about but they dont care. Have fun having to go in there physically all the time because you get shut out of your accounts constantly.

We did call the number and he needs a routing number to do so, which they said they said he had to go in the bank physically for also. His work. Hours dont line up with the office hours, he has to take time of work to do this.

I have been with Sierra Central for over 36 years. I have never had any problems with them. They are great.

I went intro Sierra Central Yesterday around 1 pm. I wanted to speak to someone about opening an account with them and depositing a large sum of money into a new account. There were exactly 3 workers in the bank. 2 tellers and another person sitting behind the counter. I asked if I could speak to someone about opening an account. Nope, no one available and to come back later. Well, I don't make 2 trips into any business to do business. I'll find another CU who has better ratings than Sierra Central CU. I wasted my gas and time.

they randomly will hold my card and will decline my purchases for days at a time with no warning, and it happens consistently during weekends when i can’t call becuase they are closed so i have to wait until Monday to try and fix something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. aswell i have had my card stolen before but since it was on a saturday i couldn’t cancel it until monday morning leaving someone open to spend my money without any way i could stop them. This bank has the worst Online Banking system i’ve ever seen.DO NOT USE SIERRA CENTRAL IF YOU PLAN ON BUYING THINGS ONLINE!!!
