Wait times are real long sometimes and having to wait to make an apt then trying to call to reschedule when no one answered the phone was inconvenient.

As a member for five years I have only had positive experiences with Golden 1. The Corporate ofice (on the phone), the local branch in Placerville and Folsom have been supper polite and kind. Overall I enjoy banking with them. My only gripes are the Golden 1 ATM's that seems to have software from 2000 and the fact that after dark the Placerville location is a bit sketchy with homeless.

I went into the branch to make a loan payment, and set up automatic payments. Apparently I was behind a payment. The representative did not tell me. Let me make a payment and set up automatic payments going forward. I received a 30 day late on my credit report a few weeks later. Confused I called and the rep on the phone explained that when I was in the office I was behind a payment. I explained the rep didn't say anything and I had moved. I also asked what address was showing. The rep also didn't change my address as I had requested so I didn't recieve the notices. I obviously sent in a request to have the late pay removed from my credit report and received a letter saying that notices were sent to me as well as phone calls. That they didn't care the bank representative didn't inform me. I have worked for a bank, Chase Bank for 16 years and this is some of the worst customer service ever. Why would I make a payment, set up auto payments if I was aware I was behind a payment? Needless to say the loan was paid off, and all accounts closed. The late pay impacted my credit score 50 points and will be there for years to come. They have lost my business and I will make sure to inform anyone looking to do business with them of my experience.

I am usually at the the Placerville location. Its very hard to work with a bank that doenst open TILL 10 and tellers that seem like they could care less, but i still bank with golden 1 primarily because of one associate, her name is Margaret and she is always a pleasure and helps me whenever given the chance. Thank you Margaret for you commitment to excellence. My family and I appreciate you very much.

It is horrible. Never even think of applying of a home loan with Golden 1. They let our 17 day contingency expire. Golden 1 is very unreliable. BEWARE STAY AWAY!
