I refinanced my home with Pennymac as they currently held my loan and it was a horrible experience. My loan officer was not responsive by email or call and it often took a week plus to get any answers. His manager was also just as bad and never actually contacted me back despite me leaving 3 messages and his staff submitting request for a call back. I was also promised a specific rate/deal and got a bait a switch which I had to fight to receive the original amount promised. Don't waste your time, there's plenty of other options.

I've been a customer for 18 months. The market improved and refinancing to rate drop proved to be a solid financial decision in my favor. I looked into doing the refinance with my local bank and PennyMac beat their pricing as well as locked me into a rate equal to what the bank offered. I saved about $2,800 keeping the loan with PennyMac and as a current customer, the process was streamlined. The only quirk I had was with the final closing documents, but PennyMac was quick to respond and help correct the error. As a military veteran, I would recommended PennyMac to others and refer other consumers to give these folks an opportunity to earn your business. Solid advice with viable solutions while protecting your most valuable asset! Cudo.

Terrible Lender. Nightmare closing delay. This so called company has a general e-mail address, so not only do you get the joy of calling and getting a different person everytime you call, you can't even e-mail a specific person. This company has to Pay thousands of dollars to get a fake rating using robot companies. We sat for hours after the time the mortgage was supposed to close due to their incompetence. They came up with an issue about verifying employment literally 12 hours before the closing time and date. We will never accept a pre-approval for a mortgage from this terrible "lender"

The loan officers were very helpful from application to closing. Usually felt like I was able to track what was going on and when I felt like I wasn't my questions were always answered. I would absolutely recommend going through PennyMac for your loan servicing needs!

Never again. Simple cash out should have taken 2 weeks. Took 3 months. Charged me twice to get mortgage payoff from their own account. Two days after funding and I still don't have my money. Account they are refiing now has late fees because they are so slow to fund. Never again!
