Siskiyou Credit Union, Yreka, CA

I have never found this institution to be convenient or useful at all. In fact, I had opened the account due to the lack of banking in the town my mother lives in and I wanted something local for when I visited and in case she needed access in times of need. I don't use it much so I get dormant account fees, but I also cannot close the account since I'm not local and haven't been there while they're open in several years. As they slowly take my money, money in which they instead should be *paying me* interest on, I find the institution useless, unaccommodating, and a poor capital choice on my own behalf.

My first car loan linked to Yreka Honda and I am impressed with their interest rate and I am glad being apart of community.Amazing experience so far and hope they will keep it up.

I have had a few issues with withdrawing my money when I need and want it and the fact that my withdraw limit was not increased and I was deneided access to my money made me very mad . I still bank here but I won't leave much money in my account because I like to have availability. I also haven't been offered to refinance my car since I have been making payments for over a year now and I have a very high interest rate but that's the way it goes . I knew better than to deposit my pay check early Friday morning into my account Now they are holding 800 dollars and I can't access any of it. I have bills to pay and I can't get any of my cash. I don't recommend this bank. This isn't how banking is suppose to be. People should be able to have access to their money.

I had a loan here that was paid late, but was paid off, March, 2015. January, 2020, while checking my credit, I found that it was showing as an unpaid, derogatory account. I went to the credit union, they checked their records, found the date it was paid-in-full and promised that the credit bureau would be updated. The incorrect information was still there a year later. Again I went to the credit union. I was not rude but did request and receive a written verification that the loan had been paid-in-full in 2015. The woman who brought me had an unpleasant attitude. I just checked the credit bureau again and guess what?!? Still there …

I’ve been banking with Siskiyou Central for 5 years now, along with other banks which have come and gone. For me it’s the ability to call and have someone answer the phone right away, rather than my past experiences of being on hold for a long time and get nowhere with my accounts. Even amongst the smaller banks, they have not beat Siskiyou central’s customer service

Good banking business they handle all problems, lots of problems with their debit cards , I’ve learned U can call them to reset ur pin , that solved my problem, interest rates on accounts is less than 1% , the new location is excellent
