Bank of Colorado, Durango, CO

Edited: response to the reply from the Bank and end of review. ** They are not a local Colorado bank ** ** they are a national chain known as Pinnacle ** Was just told by a Sandra that they were being nice by only borrowing my money for 3 days instead of 7. without any warning is a large sum of money is withheld from my account. Stay away from the Bank of Colorado and any bank operating under their Pinnacle corporate name. A great thing to experience the week of Christmas. Hah. A bank that started in Nebraska is as local as it gets for Durango, Colorado bank options. There are a few local credit unions and a couple banks that started locally or in Colorado. They were so successful other larger banks bought them out (First National and Alpine Bank). I rather talk to the police over felony theft charges than a branch president.

GREAT BANK! I've been a customer since they opened...UNFORTUNATELY their new receptionist is more interested in playing on her phone than helping customers. Today I waited 30 minutes in the lobby as other patrons who came in after me were taken care of. When I finally approached her, she quickly dropped her phone and actually faked an incoming call! You know, no ring? Thankfully one of the ever helpful tellers saw me just standing there and offered assistance. With so many people out there looking for an opportunity these days, I'm sure BOC can do better. I was just blown away...

The bank employees seem uninterested in helping customers. I had to go get a manager from an office so they would get the attention of their tellers, as they were too busy huddling for jokes and quiet speech behind the counter. The manager seemed angry. The president was worse however; he decided heavyhandedly to close my account for me because of my disability. They never once showed me an ounce of courtesy regarding it, or in handling my business. There's only one kind of customer in Bank of Colorado: homogeneous automatons.

Literally might lose my housing in another country thanks to Arielle, the worst bank teller in history! I was sent to her to inquire about an international wire transfer to South Korea, as I'm studying there in the fall and I need to wire money over to secure my spot in the dorms. Arielle gave me plenty of false information, telling me it's easier to send the money in Korean won rather than dollars (because the rate of exchange is always changing and it will take longer to convert it all, and I have a strict deadline for this money to get there) and that I should come back the next day. So I did! I then was told that they don't do Korean won. I asked why I was given that option if it's not even a thing, and Arielle proceeded to tell me, in quite possibly the rudest tone I've ever heard from someone who is supposed to be professional, that she had never done a wire to Korea. Don't you think she should know which currencies they can do? Couldn't she have looked it up before giving me false info? Couldn't she have been a little more polite when addressing a customer she blatantly lied to? She had the nerve to talk down to me so rudely when I'm about to lose my place to live due to her negligence and inability to give correct information to customers. Bank of Colorado needs to get it together.

Convenient and fast

I’ve been banking with Bank for Colorado for about 6 years. For awhile they were a good bank, but the last year or so it’s taken days for checks to get processed. When I deposit on Fridays, they usually aren’t cleared until Wednesday the following week. Checks also don’t clear over the weekends. Their delays have cost me. The more people I’ve spoke with in Durango, I’ve come to find out many have left for that same reason.

Wonderful bank! Wonderful people! When you call them a real person answers and provides exceptional customer service. Their loan products are excellent. Their offices are professional and comfortable.
