They low-balled us on our appraisal, costing us about $15,000 on a cash-out refinance. We had an appraisal done less than one year prior, and theirs came out more than $30,000 less even after the local market had gone up several percent within that year.

Contacted a rep with respect to an appraisal and he indicated I was in the wrong dept but agreed to transfer me to the department I needed. I was on hold for 4 hours 12 minutes and 7 seconds and never got a connection. I now have proof that the VA is as bad as what you read about them. Totally unacceptable for service members that offered their life in support of our country.

I called and called trying to get ahold of anyone for a coe. Apparently they are closed today due to bad weather. You think being a federal government office they would have a recording telling customers this vital information. I then found another number on the VA website and all this recording say to me repeatedly is you call can't go thru at this time no matter what number I push. As much as they are paid someone should answer the phone. If you want jobs to stay in America do your job.

They've revamped their answering system. They also answer the phone a lot faster and more consistently than they used to do. Wednesdays, make sure you call earlier because they close earlier in the day on Wednesday.
