Alpine Bank, Steamboat Springs, CO

I have lived all over the country, and have used both national and state banks. No place has ever treated me as well as the people at the steamboat springs location of Alpine Bank. Super friendly, remember my name, and always gave me service as quick as possible. I also have to give a mention to the customer service phone line people, they have been great while traveling and needing a little help. Customer for life.

The folks in the mortgage department were pretty terrible to deal with. I spoke with several different lenders and my experience with Alpine was the worst. I thought it would be easy and convenient because I bank with them and have credit cards through them. David High wouldn't even give me a quote. He also knew nothing about USDA loans, and told me he would have his partner follow up with me, which never happened. Possibly because I wasn't buying a million dollar home, I wasn't worth his time. Maybe not the case, but that's how it felt. I ended up going through Kathryn Pedersen at Fidelity, which was a wonderful experience.
