I have never seen a more unprofessional business in my entire life. If I could give zero stars, I would!
We have been waiting OVER 2 MONTHS for an auto loan refinance and 2 months later, it is still not even STARTED!! I called and the loan officer asked me to fill out an application as if paperwork has not even begun when he assured me every other time that it was all set and being processed.
I don't want to hear how busy and short on staff you are! Normally (especially in this climate) I am more than understanding regarding short staffed businesses, but this was handled so POORLY and unprofessionally they do not deserve my compassion or understanding!

I find them do be unprofessional. Not sure why they are having such problems but this type of behavior is more recent in the last 5 years.

Very unusual and unprofessional experience. I applied online to open a share savings because one of my employers are listed for qualification to their credit union. I then spoke to Jay (Loan Officer) in detail and explained what my goal was and various financial avenues I was willing to take to achieve my goal. I was looking to purchase a car and I wanted to deposit the cash into a savings account and just pay cash for the car while the cash would be made into a secured loan at a rate JAY suggested of 1.5-2% which would have been less than what the dealer would have been able to get me. He tells me F2F he would speak to her SUSAN BROWN (CEO) even though she was on her vacation and tells me the following day via phone... Susan Brown the CEO did not even want to agree to do a secured loan because of the amount $50000.00, which is not a lot for a car, as if they don't need need large depositors at their CU; they did not want a large loan amount on their books... Mind you SECURED WITH CASH... Then when he ever said they do Criminal Background checks on their customers I WAS OUT DONE...what happen to credit score qualifying. It is my opinion and with prejudice that you stay as far away as possible.. Very personally invasive and unprofessional... I will be closing the accounts I opened.. NOT INTERESTED Just as THEY WERE'NT

AAA sign me up for an auto loan with them it has been a nightmare from the very start. and all my information wrong in their system from the beginning including email and address. I mailed them hard copies of my electric bill and water bill to prove my current address they added it to my file but did not update my address. I had to drive from where I live in West Hartford all the way down to their branch.
There online banking it's funky and does not allow any check deposits over $900. don't even think of trying to get anybody on the phone at that branch cuz they're all incompetent and they will just switch you to someone else.
Then recently they stop auto pay for my car loan. For nearly a year my car payment was being taken directly out of my savings account that I have with them. I'm going to begin the laborious process of contacting them over the phone to remedy the issue. I've already received too late fees I was unaware of them because they had the wrong address on file.
I heard you anyone to go use a different bank.

Hey another bad review...what could that hurt like a hard inquiry on your credit! I'll admit right now my credit isn't the best. I have already been approved for financing on an auto loan through capital one but thought to try a local credit union. HORRIBLE IDEA! Jay said that he would be able to help me out after I told him my situation and discussed my credit in detail and how I hired a company to help me repair. WRONG. Long story short, no financing through this credit union but a nice hard inquiry to help WORSEN my credit after I told Jay I wasn't looking to apply and put a hit on it if there wasn't a chance they would go forward with me. Thanks for the help! NOT! I will NOT be going to them in 6 months for refinance.

Now they are merged with Finex Credit Union, I have been unsuccessful to speak with someone. I called over 20xs in the past hour and no one answered and I’m not exaggerating. I can’t access my account or speak to anyone this is absurd.

WHERE IS THE ZERO OR THE NEGATIVE NUMBERS??. I have never felt so disrespected, belittled, stereotyped and placed in such a small box by any institution before today. I have banked with First Connecticut for close to 15 years, maybe more. It used to be a welcoming environment where the tellers rememberd me even if I haven't been in for a while and we would always engage in conversations referring back to our last.
I went in yesterday for a bank check. I was there today to cash that same check that was in my name because the establishment that i intended it for only a cepted cash. I was told that they could not cash it because it was made out to me and I would have to deposit it somewhere else. WHERE, THIS IS MY BANK!! Manager comes to explain that they have no way of knowing if I attempted to deposit it somewhere else, they have had issues in the past with people attempting to do bank fraud, welfare fraud, child support fraud and they've lost hundreds of dollars. HUNDREDS?! etc.....My account has never had an issue nor have i ever received any of those. He then asked, snarkingly, why I did not take the cash out instead on the day before. I could only assume that they looked at the color of my skin and figured I was up to no good, with my own money. This is the warm reception that a longstanding account holder receives.
