Upon starting to work at Merchant One I was optimistic and excited to grow with the company, Everything looked perfect to begin with until I was micromanaged to a degree I never knew possible to cold call people who didn’t want to be called. So after hours of being screamed at for calling so many times (out of our control) the manager will come to you and make you feel bad because you didn’t “pitch them” correctly. Simply put, you’re just a number, you don’t make the number they want you’re OUT. I watched 3 people quit because of this manager. I’m surprised I didn’t, but don’t worry they handled that after I had one bad day. The CEO is a good guy but needs to pay more attention to how his manager treats his LOA’s and Loan processors because I’ve seen a couple people cry from him, and he makes a simple job living hell.

Although we have never gone through a reverse Mortgage before, you will DEFINITELY want to be sure to ask for James Basic. He does everything to make sure the process goes smoothly. He has great communication skills, follow through, & is resolution oriented. Thank you James for making this happen. Be well &stay safe..

The company does get loans done but the people running the place are 2 faced, they will be nice to your face as long as they are benefiting from you. If you are considering working here, I would run for the hills. You will get micro managed, morning meeting are super redundant, and a guy walking around the office like he knows it all. You will get overpromised and ultimately let down since there is no support for growth. They hire any breathing body so that should tell you there is no company culture. On the books the company name is merchant one financial but over the phone they are telling people merchant one mortgage, come on guys… get it together.
