The lender we worked with was very pushy, and told us what house to buy. At the end of the day I’m paying the bill, and if I don’t want to pay for the house then I’m not going to buy it. When we decided to pass on a house and take our time buying we were told that we more or less lost our opportunity and that we should have settled on a property we didn’t want. Additionally, I asked for all of the anticipated out-of-pocket expenses upfront. It seemed like after each stage we had to pay another grand or more. Which is fine, but I don’t appreciate those not being disclosed at the time I had asked. If you’re a first time home buyer and want someone who wants to help you and not just get commission then I would look somewhere else. Would not recommend.
