OneMain Financial, Cumming, GA

I'm currently inquiring into a loan with these guys, so far the website and loan process is not as great as other sites, I was approved so we'll see what financing they come up with. I have personal finance experience so I'll be back to update this review once the application process is completed and give you guys the rundown on what you'll be getting into with OneMain. Reviews may or may not raise or lower. Update 1: So far I've contacted the branch with no response, their phone lines do not seem to be actually set up to ring, instead they just forward to a voice-mail system. They don't coordinate callbacks very well it seems either. So far pretty frustrating. Will be updating once I receive a call back. Final update: So I called in, turns out their phones are actually in location as it states which is wonderful, I just have bad timing myself it seems. Got in touch with someone, they unfortunately did not lower the APR of the loan but instead of 36 months I've been given, which in the long run I'm spending more, but its a lower monthly payment. They were very efficient and timely in explaining all of the details and even offered me a higher loan which I declined just for my own wallets well-being. Wonderful staff, super friendly and I got the money the next day in my bank I provided. Overall great experience, a few issues but nothing is perfect, as far as business and professionalism they were wonderful. I think some of the comments on here with lower reviews might have something to do with people who cannot manage their money/payments and fall behind. Do understand they ARE a loan company, they do have an obligation to hold up their part but as well as to make sure you follow up on yours.

They are very happy to help you get a loan to where you get a huge balance. However when you have questions about your account and getting it refinanced and the manager takes three weeks getting back to you telling you she’s working on it then corporate winds up tagging your account as being behind that’s not a good thing. Then when the managers change and you talk to her on a Thursday and she promises to call you back Friday to let you know something and here it is Tuesday and you have to call her to speak with her ????? NOT good customer service. Not to mention I called on Saturday and left a voicemail. I have been a customer there for about 12 years and have been treated ridiculously for the last year. The manager just told me that she meant to call me back but she shorthanded and busy, how can you tell me that three business days later after you promised to return a call that you don’t have two minutes to return it

Great service, fast and responsive service and if you have the opportunity to work with Ms. Caroline in Georgia, you will not get better service.

These people are nothing other than a Car Title Loan Co. We have an existing loan with these guys; and they call us 2-3 times a month wanting to know if we would like to borrow additional money. We recently bought a home; and took them up on their offer, and they came back with "we would require a car title". The only difference is, their interest rates are HIGHER than a typical Title Loan Company!

Specifically asked Nell if you could have an unsecured and a secured loan with his company at the same time, he stated "oh yeah you can". So they pulled my credit for the second loan and come back and say " the underwriter cannot do it because it would make your balance too high. We cannot do a second loan. Ridiculous waste of time and ding my credit for nothing.

Would highly recommend avoiding this method of borrowing unless you have completely exhausted all options. Just found out today after making 9 monthly consecutive payments that has amounted to over $5,000.00 that our overall balance has decreased by only just $100.00. You can do the math as to what the monthly amount we pay is, point is on top of that, if God forbid something happens and you have a major health issue in your family as we did and got behind due to paying out deductibles this company will be sure to let you know after 30 days of a late payment that they have the right to come get your vehicle. To add insult they will only take off 1 late payment a year showing absolutely no mercy. They only thing they will do is hound your phone every day you are late and when you can pay remind you that you are to let them know if you are going to be late. Again, just my suggestion butAVOID this company at all costs, they are sharks! We are paying off our balance in January and NEVER will go back. Just trying to help others not make the same mistake we did!
