I spoke with a manager today about some issues I had with late fees. I explained that I called Amerihome several weeks ago and gave them my new checking account info. They did some research and determined I had called and that tech support’s change may not have gone through. She could See I had made my pmts each month and was kind enough to take the lays fees off. I have not really had any issue with them. So far so good!!

Please do not use this company as a lender. My loan was unfortunately sold to this company 3 months after I closed on my home so I had no choice in the matter. My property taxes are built into my loan. My property was approved for a homestead therefore my tax amount decreased from the amount that was factored into my escrow at the time I closed on my home. I received my tax notice from my county and forwarded it to Amerihome to confirm the decrease. I am now being given the run around regarding the overage I have due to the taxes. One rep said I would receive my overage amount because it's against the law to withhold it, another rep said oh you will receive your overage refund 12 months from the date of our analysis which is conducted in June and another rep said oh you have no overage in fact you are short. I promptly told that rep to check her records. She will see I sent in a payment three months ago to cover the shortage I was told I had in prior to my homestead status being approved. I'm still waiting on a resolution regarding the taxes and when I will be receiving a refund. I will be looking for refinancing options. UPDATE: I refinanced my loan with another company due to Amerihomes questionable business practices. I purchased my home 2 years ago and have NEVER been late even in the midst of the pandemic and being furloughed for 5 months I was not late. To take advantage of the low interest rates being offered I initially contacted Amerihome for refinancing. You would think a customer in good standing and excellent credit score would have been allowed to refinance. I was told by an Amerihome rep that the federal government does not allow them to refinance my home lower than the interest rate I had at that time 5.25 and I was asked why do I want to refinance and they could offer me the current rate I had...um WHAT. I'm sure Amerihome took advantage of the low interest rates on their debt but refused to offer the same assistance to their customers. I was approved for refinancing by another company with an EXCELLENT rate and closed last year.

Incredibly dishonest company. They consistently make promises that they fail to follow through on. Their PMI department refuses to accept any phone calls and their only replies to emails are to send the same copied and pasted block of text, while totally ignoring my questions.
I've been trying to get my PMI cancelled for more than a year, and they're still giving me the run around.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We closed on our home and paid off our mortgage in full on 10/5. Prior to selling our house we had to pay all liens on it or the paperwork wouldn't go through. Because of this, we had to pay $3000+ in county taxes that otherwise would have been covered by escrow. Amerihome paid our tax bill after we already paid it, so they were refunded the same day, 10/5. When the county refunded our tax bill they did it in a lump sum, and I was given the amount that I had to reference (approx $205,000). I called on the 18th of October asking for an update and I talked to a representative that said they had to open a ticket and that they had 15 business days from the time they received the check to send out my payment - which would be by Nov. 2. I called back on the 19th to verify - and that representative said the same thing. On November 1 I called Amerihome back, after I didn't get the check in the mail, to verify that I would be getting it by the next day. The representative that answered, Sharee, told me that what the previous two people had told me was not correct, and that although my ticket was opened on the 18th, I would not be getting my money back until 15 business days AFTER the ticket was resolved on the 25th. She was extremely rude and impatient on the phone and it a detriment to that company. Absolutely terrible customer service. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was told that a gentleman named Chris will call me back, but "he will tell me the same thing." Listen, policies are policies, but you can't go holding over $3,000 hostage for OVER A MONTH. Get is TOGETHER. Plus, you need to work on consistent messaging across the board - stop making excuses and giving deadlines you can't deliver on. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Unfortunately, my loan was sold to them. Their website is garbage, trying to pay online and can't even though they have my loan number, no support online, and I've called 3 times today trying to get a hold of someone. Stay away from them.
