The Sharpsburg location is my new favorite because of its beautifully decorated interior, and its super-friendly/polite staff. However, there is one employee that stands above all, and shines the brightest.... Trust me when I tell you that Ms. Martha is the gold standard for customer service. Always amazingly sweet/friendly/helpful, AND sharply dressed. =) She has the warmest smile and kindest spirit - truly just a magnificent person - Ms. Martha represents the SCU very well!

I have come here countless times before 12 on a Saturday and they have been closed. Working the long hours I work Saturday is the only day I’m able to come to the bank. This is so inconvenient so much so I’ve considered switching credit unions.

I didn’t have a positive experience with this credit union. Firstly, the lobby was closed and I just find it’s much better when you can do face to face interaction. Covid-19 is no longer a Pandemic in the U.S., and honestly it’s been over in Georgia, so it’s interesting this location hasn’t gotten the memo. The only way we could talk to someone was over the phone. The branch manager Paula was very hard to get into contact with. We left multiple phone calls and voicemails and despite what should have been a 10-15 minute process (the car dealer himself said this and he works with the branch a lot) it took over a day. I got an email at the very end of the second day of waiting that we were denied (we’ve never been denied ever), it seems they didn’t want to give us the loan to begin with. All in all, the professionalism was not there and I will be glad to take my business elsewhere. I’m pretty sure this will be deleted so I’ll take my review over to social media. I’m a working journalist, so I think everyone should know the truth.

I have had accounts here for several years. Mostly savings, checking, some CDs and car loans. Recently my wife and I got a new mortgage through the southern credit union and they all went above and beyond through the whole experience. We are very happy and extremely satisfied with everyone we encountered during the process. I highly recommend the Southern Credit Union and especially the mortgage department for all your money needs.
