They give customers who have little or no credit an opportunity to start and build up their credit score and the staff especially the young lady who just delivered twins, she has the best customer service personality working with new customers that I have experienced in a long time. And the manager there has a great attitude and can really make you feel at ease with her Awesome talent in decorating the local office.

I took a loan out with SF last year. About 4 months ago I put my account on auto-draft. The second month it was on auto-draft, SF called me and my list of contacts looking for payment, which had already been drafted from my account. When I returned the call, they said they were sorry, they just hadn’t seen the payment bc they needed to look “at another place” to see it. They said they could now see it and to please disregard the previous calls.
The next month, the same thing happened again. This time when I called them, I explained what I was told last time and again, they could see the posted payment, apparently on a different system. It was just not reflecting on the screen that had been looking at when they were attempting to make contact.
Two months go by and the auto-draft worked fine, no calls, no worries.
Today, SF calls again. This time I’m on vacation. I called them back and said that we had received a call and the first thing the lady says is “We don’t do that anymore”. I said I just was left a voicemail less than 5 min ago, but I’m on auto-draft. She responds with “We don’t do that anymore. We stopped auto-draft last Thursday”. I asked, “Did you send a notice to let people know that auto-draft would no longer be an option?” She advised that “We didn’t have access to who all was being auto drafted so wouldn’t be able to let anyone know”.
I am on vacation. I have not been checking my account and had assumed, wrongly, that it came out as usual.
I called back to make the payment and went ahead and paid the loan off. The person I spoke to at the time of the second call was 1000x more polite and professional than the person I spoke to at the time of the first call. She explained that they had issues with the auto-draft company they were working with and that they didn’t have a list of auto-draft customers and apologized for that inconvenience. She was so nice that I almost considered not leaving this review.
The problem I have with this company is that they do not appear to have their processes in order. They didn’t see payments they had, didn’t know who was auto-drafted, and would call me and my contacts when they had the payment already. It’s a mess.
I get that this is not a bank and that it was my choice to make a loan here. I take responsibility for that choice and for payments owed. As a finance business, I have a degree of expectation that they would be capable of properly accepting payments and posting them to my account. The nice person I spoke to at SF says they are working on resolving these issues, so maybe that will improve in the future.
Meanwhile, if you need one of these types of loans, I recommend you go somewhere else. I recommend perhaps Credit Central. I’ve dealt with them in the past and they are fine. There are others to choose from. Choose wisely.

So far I am I. My 2nd personal loan with Sunset. I've encountered no issues. I've read the other reviews and my advice to anyone considering financing a loan thru sunset is simply physically go to the location and make your payment or to call them and make a payment over the phone. I have done both and never had an any problems whatsoever. Their application process is pretty simple and quick if you arrive prepared with identification and proof of income and 2 bills with your address on them (which I usually have in my car anyways) sunset has been helpful in raising my credit score which is now very high.
Side note.. when you finance a loan with sunset they also (not sure why) sign you up for, or sell you, a roadside assistance type membership. The employee who I last worked with told me about it and said if I get my cars towed that all I had to do was bring then my recites and I would be reimbursed up to $75 each incident, up to 3 incidents. I took in 2 recites from each of my cars. One car had a broken serpentine belt and the other had a dead altenator.. both incidents a week apart. That was at about 4 months ago. When I called to inquire about the status of my reimbursement the woman who answered the phone told me she didn't know so I asked for the info to call the actual providers of the roadside plan and she said she didn't have it and I should call back the following day. Seems like not all employees there are knowledgeable of this membership they sign you up for that I'm sure I'm paying for. Maybe some training would be helpful.

I took a loan out for my daughter. Wether it's on time or late it gets paid period. This Company us Shady. They just took a credit card payment from my personal account without my permission and created a storm of negative balances. I have never had a negative balance in my account. I will be making a police report on Monday. That's stealing and you will be reported to my bank first thing Monday. No one gave you permission to use or keep my care on file for any reason period.
