If I stumbled upon any questions whether it be something big or small she would have the answer. She made us feel so comfortable throughout this entire process. My first initial phone call was with Gary, I remember being so nervous. By the time I hung up the phone I was filled with confidence! Gary is very smart about real estate. He knows this market. If you are thinking about purchasing a home & maybe you’re a little hesitant just give them a call they will give you the steps to get started & answer any questions you have without judgement. Outstanding service! Kimberly Quintana at Island Home Loans helped us through the loan process for our first home. From our initial inquiry on their website through closing day, she always promptly provided us with all necessary information, answered our many questions, and was willing to explain every step and detail along the way. We interacted exclusively via e-mail (during the covid pandemic) and the process was absolutely seamless. More than once, Kimberly sent us information after hours and on the weekend to make sure no time was wasted. All the paperwork that Kimberly took care of for us was filled completely and accurately, without a single typo anywhere. Last but not least, she found us an affordable loan and made sure our application was approved quickly, so that we could close on our house ahead of schedule. Always replied very quickly with all of my questions and would even call me to explain certain steps over the phone to make sure I understood fully. During the few times I interacted with anyone else from island homes, they were also very pleasant and efficient to communicate with. 10/10 recommend!!!

If I could give more stars I would. I am a real estate broker in the Seattle area. I came to the island in search of a unique property that I could share with my children. I actually was given another lenders name by another RE agent in Hilo. I didn't feel comfortable with that lender nor her rates. I decide to do some investigating on my own as I know the business forward and backward. I hit upon Joy Gillette at Island Home Loans. It was a blessing in disguise. She is an amazing lender. She knows her stuff. She has integrity and works with diligence. No hassles nor issues. She took a hold of what we gave her and she spun gold ~ it wasn't the easiest transaction. Us working from the states while our kids, being young first time buyers, living in Hilo. Joy walked them through it all and kept us up to date as well. Do not hesitate to use this lady!
