Hickam Federal Credit Union, Honolulu, HI

My previous experience with this CU when I was first stationed at Hickam AFB was a positive one. I never had any issues or real complaints. This review is for my present time now as I learned that I had an outstanding debt with the CU that was opened up 3 years ago and I was never notified of it. I contacted the CU to gain information but they said that because my account was already closed (as it has been since 2016), they could pull up no information and had gave me another number to call. 5 numbers and 2 debt collectors later, I found I had a 110 dollar outstanding debt with the CU that never appeared on any of my financial records or my closing statements with them. Absolutely useless customer service, abysmal file keeping and downright devious practices from this CU to not have any information but still have the ability to send something to collections and restrict me from opening an account elsewhere. Save your time and money and pass on this place. Opt for USAA or NFCU, never had an issue with either.

Worst experience with a credit union. Customer service is awful. The staff is uneducated and useless. I highly suggest you find another bank to manage your finances. They try to assess members with ridiculous fees and surcharges. I had to contact them multiple times for inaccurate fees which is mind blowing. USAA, Navy, Air Force, and Wells Fargo are just a few other financial institutions available. I do NOT recommend Navy federal.

Awful. Hate this bank so much. Had so many issues with this bank. Honestly, if you're in the military. I recommend Navy Federal or USAA. Hickam FCU is just no help.
