Dumb fees + miscommunication = lost business. I opened my account here specifically to avoid the dormancy fees that Central Pacific Bank charged, which led to me closing that account. I was assured that First Hawaiian doesn't do this, but then I started getting charged anyway. They said they could only reverse two fees. No idea why this fee is charged, since my other banks don't do it, but it's a problem since I work abroad and don't visit here often. Waste of money - if you travel or have many accounts and don't want to worry about having account activity, take your business elsewhere

I saved some money here on February 4, 2020. A very kindly and friendly staff helped me a lot.

They really choose their own hours at this location. You can’t rely on what it says online or on the sign at the bank because they just close whenever. Multiple times my husband and I haven’t been able to go in because they close early or randomly throughout the day. Waimea location is better.

worst bank ever. very very slow. never enough people. antiquated processes. no one bit of respect for customer’s time. just to be clear this is a management failure. individual tellers are fine, after you wait for hours in line. crazy how backwards they can be. It’s like night and day compared to a credit union where they respect customers.
