A bank is only as good as it's president. We went in to discuss a lack of support for an event in the community. The next day we talked to a friend that was part of another business in the same community. He shared details from his boss (the company owner) who relayed to him details that only would have been know through talking with the banks president. Do you want to trust a bank that handles your privacy like that?

I banked here for nearly 30 years. I had multiple business accounts and multiple personal accounts. And, more loans than I could count. Know that I have several horror stories in experiences with Availa (and when it was formerly Carroll County State Bank). This one will take the least amount of time. On 12/23/13, I called my banker to inform him that the bank had been clearing checks from my corporate account which were forged. Not just a few, mind you. Over $100,000 worth. When I first told that to Don, he said, "Luke, that isn't possible. We won't clear a check if the signature doesn't match any on the signature card. If we did, we would be liable for those." I said, "If you're not sitting, you should before looking at my account." He nervously chuckled, then I heard nothing for what seemed like 3 minutes. His demeanor changed when he spoke again. "Most of these checks don't have the right signature," he said. Yeah. That's why I was calling. I told him that they needed to provide the fundamental service of a bank: protecting my money from thieves. $100,000 plus. Pretty bad, huh? What if I told you that they allowed it continue and it did for another 3 years? What if I told you that over $300,000 was taken by multiple people through countless checks which either had my signature forged, their own signature (not lawfully on my account) and some had NO SIGNATURES at all!? There were also several checks which contained no signature on the back, the endorsement line. Needless to say, this ruined my company. No matter how much I tried, no matter how hard I begged, no one at the bank cared at all that they left the vault open to anyone who could present a fraudulent or forged check against my accounts there. I think they expected me to sue them. I should have. I tried. Finding an attorney who would take this on wasn't possible. I tried. $300,000 stolen. While the people at Availa Bank watched and did nothing. Do not open an account here. Close your accounts if you have any. I have everything to back this up. I filed a police report. The police agreed that it was fraud and forgery. Still the bank did nothing. NOTHING. It's all documented. They'd sue me for libel otherwise. You've been warned.

Would not suggest. Had an issue with a 3rd party atm that did not disburse money. They did absolutely nothing to assist in disputing charges. We will be switching banks.
