Check Into Cash, Cedar Rapids, IA

Not sure what happened, seeing as the reviews from a year or so ago are good, but had a terrible experience here today. Went in to cash a paycheck as my normal bank had a software update which prevented checks from being deposited via mobile, and were closed due to 4th of July. I am already late on rent, and will now not have any fireworks for the holiday, nor the food we were planning on making. Before I got there, I called and asked if they cashed 3rd party checks, they said yes, that theyd need to verify the check though so I said I could call my boss and they could speak, he said that would be fine. I went in, the lady whom was helping me was new, no issue there. They other guy then took over, and said they needed to verify the check. I said that was fine. He asked if we had a store number he could call. Our phone lately at work has been acting up and is schedule for services on the lines. He tried to call the store but couldnt get through. So I told him I had my boss's, whom wrote the checks phone number and I could call her for him if hed like. He told me to wait and kept trying to search for the store online. He then said they couldnt cash the check because he couldnt find the store online. I told him it was a brick and mortar store, inside the mall, and that I had the number to reach them. He said he needed to be able to call the store number, and be able to look it up on the internet. So, I pulled up our website for him, with the address, name of the owner and such. Then showed him her contact name and number in my phone, so he knew it'd match the site. He still said that since our store phone wasnt working he was unable to cash the check. This isn't what he told me on the phone when I had called a few minutes before arriving. So I got in my car, waited a few minutes and called once more, asking if calling my boss would be an acceptable form of verification. I wanted to see if he would lie to me again. My car was sitting right outside and I could see them all through the window. He literally hung up on me and went on helping another customer. This is horrible service. I would have been fine with the 50 dollar fee, as I needed the money today. Now I have to wait another day, my wife and I's holiday is ruined, and we will now incur more late fees before being able to pay rent. People like this do not need to be working with the public. I don't even care if he is the manager, it is just plain wrong. I will never take another check to any branch of this place, and I will strongly advise against this place when people ask me if I know where they can get a check cashed...which is often.

I always get great service here. I recently had an issue with the card I got for my pay day loan. I didn't notice it until 45 minutes after they closed. Blaine let me come back and spent a little over an hour, on a Saturday, resolving this for me. He went above and beyond! His store was closed, registers closed. He could have said I had to come back Monday. I highly recommend this location! (Blairs forest Way, Cedar Rapids)

Great cuatomer service!!! Almost know me by name but not yet. If you tell them to deposit the check when its due Instead of them calling you for card information, they will. Also remember if you pay your debt off, you cannot get a new cash advance the same day
