NSB Bank, Mason City, IA

My experience with this bank was horrible, to say the least. All I was trying to do was cash a check for the floor company I do work for sometimes. The first time I went in, I was told I needed 2 forms of I.D., but I only had one at the time. So I went home and got 2 more forms of I.D., In case one of them wasn't good enough. I was told a library card or anything with my name on it was good enough, no picture necessary. The only thing I could find was a Diamond Jo's Casino card. No picture, but it DOES have my name clearly printed on it much the way a library card would. So, now I have my permanent state I.D., my temporary state I.D. (Which has a different expiration date than the permanent one which I feel makes it a different one), and my Diamond Jo's card.This was not good enough for the teller, so she said she had to call her supervisor. Her supervisor did not answer the phone so she pretty much said I was s.o.l.! She would not cash my check. They take a fingerprint for crying out loud! I thought she might tell me I need 2 forms of that as well! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly financial institution, look elsewhere! Even if only across town at their other location on E. Illinois Av. by Hy-Vee east. They are much friendlier and far more accommodating there. I might have been a bit unpleasant with them after being told to bring 2 forms of I.D. then bringing 3, then being told that wasn't good enough still, but who in their right mind wouldn't be frustrated at this point? The teller told me she didn't appreciate how I was talking to her. I too did not appreciate the way she was treating me. It felt as if she thought I was trying to pull a scam with a bad check or something. Either that or maybe it was because I have a Spanish/Mexican last name, because I am half Mexican! She could easily have called the guy I work for to clear it up with him, but she clearly did not want to cash a check for me in the least! I felt extremely insulted, and lied to. THEY DO NOT LIVE UP TO NOR FULFILL THEIR MISSION STATEMENT ON THEIR WEBSITE AT ALL! ACTUALLY, THEY ARE QUITE THE OPPOSITE OF IT!!!!

This bank is a fraud. They will take money from your saving account without you knowing it. I hate this bank. Big 0 star for you NSB Bank.

I have banked at NSB for over 20 years. If you want a bank that knows you by name and makes banking easy, they are a great choice!

This bank is a fraud. They will take money from your saving account without you knowing it. I hate this bank. Big 0 star for you NSB Bank.
