I would strongly recommend that you not do a mortgage with this bank. I did because my trusted mortgage lender happened to be working for them at the time. He has since moved on, but unfortunately I can move my mortgages because of the interest rates. So first off Fortress systems are terrible. You cant make payments through your account , you cant change anything through your account and the only way to make a manual payment is to do it from the generic payment portal. The best part is that even though you put the loan number into the portal, the processing team will inevitably apply it to the wrong loan and the correct loan will go late. When they do that you will get an email from Chris Houdek AVP of Loss Mitigation and if you are really lucky he will call you and get real aggressive about "when is your mortgage going to be paid" and even when you prove to him that it was already paid and it was his team that screwed up, you think he would be apologetic or less aggressive? Nope, no such luck. Good times... I have had nothing but problems with this bank from day 1 when my mortgage payment ended up being over $100 more than the closing docs said it would be (no it was not an escrow issue) from that to autopay being a mess to setup and not automatically changing the payment to match the change in escrow, to getting no email warning if a payment hadn't posted or if it was the wrong amount do to an escrow change, because they "didn't have my email on file" although suspiciously Chris Houdek was able to email me to threaten to ruin my credit if my payment wasn't made.... Hmmm... its a mystery, he must just have guessed the correct email for me out of the 4 Billion email addresses in existence.
