Catlin Bank, Catlin, IL

Refinanced with them for a great rate when banks in C-U were so busy they wouldn't take any more apps. Did all of the work online so never had to drive there and was able to close in Urbana. They were a little busy but the whole world is refinancing now and they aren't capping the numbers like many other banks.

I was originally refered to Catlain Bank by a Modular Home company in Rantoul. They swore by this bank, and assured me that they were a stand up organization. After calling over 3 weeks ago, I was able to speak with Shanna Fisher, one of the loan officers and VP. We breifly discussed my options before telling me to apply for a loan. Within a weeks time, I applied for said loan through their online system but never heard anything back, yet they did run my credit. A few days later, Shanna requested more documents but totally forgot who I was and our conversation. I reminded her via email (bc she stopped answering my calls) and she apologized for forgetting me and asked how I planned on finding land and a modular under my budget...yet never circled back around or even bothered to pick up the phone to discuss my options or ANYTHING! It has been over 3 weeks since we first spoke, and she, nor the President of Catlin bank will answer or return any phone calls, emails or voice messages. I have called 10+ times and have left voice mails with multiple officers...for whatever the reason, I was blackballed by this bank before even being able to speak with anyone. I have a few ideas why I would have been dismissed outright, and none of them are legitimate. Discrimination is real...

I give up on this bank. After running my credit twice for a home loan. Don't return calls, emails. If they do it's days. Worst experience I have ever had from a bank. Shana vp and loan officer needs to step it up. Took 2 weeks to get just a preapproval amount. Called another bank.. had it in 2 days.

I personally use the location in Georgetown & I love it. The tellers all know us by name, they give the place a welcoming vibe.
