Bob did a great job of assisting us on the finance end of our search for a new home. Once the offer was made and the ball was rolling all staff contacts with Home State Bank were pleasant, professional, and timely. Would highly recommend them.

I would give Zero stars if I could. Besides Bob Gouwens, everyone who I have had contact with doesn’t seem to know how to answer a phone or email. It’s been over 6 months trying to recast my loan and now my home owners policy just got cancelled because they didn’t pay it. Even after I contacted them when I found out it was late. They assured me a check was on the way by the next day. A week and a half later, my policy is cancelled. So unbelievably stressful when people don’t do their jobs. Ridiculous!

Never had a problem with Home State, Nancy Howley was amazing with the mortgage & that’s why I’m giving them 2 stars, otherwise it’d be none. For 4 months I’ve been working on getting my escrow set up, 4 months of ignored calls/emails, unfulfilled promises of “getting back to me by blank time” The best one yet, they blamed a vacation and bad weather for not making progress on this. When I called, they wouldn’t let me speak to a manager to ask on the status of it. Every time I call it’s a “we’ll call you back or we have everything we need, we’ll send you an email” but yet, it’s not done. Extremely disappointing and stressful, unacceptable really.

Working with David Thompsen was easy. He was very knowledgeable and explained every step taken on the way to purchasing our new home. I would highly recommend working with him.

When it seems like banks are not in the mood to fund your project, Home State to the rescue! If they say they are going to do a thing, Home state will do exactly that thing. Forget corporate retail banking. Put Brad at Home State in your corner and give the competition a standing knockout.
