Edit; Dropped rating from 5 to 3 stars. I've gone in multiple times to get credit statements, once I was charged, a couple times I was not. Their online banking website barely works half the time for me. Problems I never experience when it was Soy Capital.

This bank has great customer service, but lacks innovative feature that other Banks offer such as Apple pay, Google pay, and modern online banking. They offer online banking, but it seems to be a dated platform.

I woke up one morning to discover a text message from my bank that said your account has less than $100 in it. My stomach immediately dropped to my knees because I had more than $4,000 in my account the night before. Come to find out First Mid allowed someone who was not me to do a direct ACH withdrawal from my checking account to pay off their auto loan of more than $3,925.
First Mid did nothing to question the transaction or follow-up on its validity. I had to call and demand they stop payments and return the money to my account. Luckily I did receive my money back after MULTIPLE calls with customer service and I went to First Mid mid to close my account. They were going to print all of my statements for me and call me when they were ready. I got the call and then forgot about the statements for a couple weeks. I just went back to ask for them again. They informed me that it would cost $2 per statement for a total of $24 for the entire year. I was told to come back, and that they would call me when they were ready. When I came back to pick up the statements they would only accept cash or a withdrawal from the account at first mid. I informed them I no longer banked with them and they informed me that they could not take my debit card as payment and suggested I use their ATM machine. This bank is an absolute joke. They do not care about their customers at all. This is just the final straw in my banking relationship with first mid. I could go on and on about all the issues I've had, like one time when they left a stolen debit card account open and I discovered it when I went to activate a new one 6 months later..... Take your money elsewhere. Don't waste your time here.

Another edit 02/04/23; I have since removed my funds and transferred to Staley Credit Union. I had applied here for an auto loan of less than $30k, and despite my 7 year history with Soy/First Mid, excellent credit score for my age, and ZERO missed credit card payments for the entirety of having my credit card, I was declined. Loyalty doesn't seem to mean anything to them. Went to SCU and walked out within an hour with a check for my truck.
