Shoemaker Loan Team-Homestead Financial Mortgage, O'Fallon Township, IL

My wife and I recently worked with Homestead Financial Mortgage (HFM) in buying our starter home, and we could not have asked for better people to work with. From February 2022 to the closing of our house in November 2022, we were constantly asking questions about the home buying process and the market. We were educated about the housing market and what causes certain numbers to rise and fall. When we settled on the house that we wanted, Doug and Craig were really great at directing us throughout the process. We both had Covid in the middle of closing on the house, and HFM was very empathetic and understanding when documents weren't provided at a specific time. Doug was extremely personable in how he went about his job. He provides personalized videos and really sets time aside during his day to ensure that you are taken care of. He even made it to the closing and congratulated us on our 1st home. HFM is the team you want to have on your side when buying a home, especially in this market!

I am really not sure how to explain this expect by saying that God meant this to be season for me to purchase a home and He selected Doug and his team to be His agent. This is the second home we have purchased. I was expecting for at least 3 to 4 months of my life to be stressful, unpredictable and filled with a lot of uncertainty. Doug's team was attentive, respectful and customer-focused to make sure our buying experience was not only simple, but the right fit for us. Doug reached out me and set the expectation and was extremely accessable throughout my process. The awesome was that I talked to him only at the milestones of my home purchase, his team was amazing. They contacted promptly and often to make sure I understood what was required and why it was needed. They responed sometimes within minutes of my request for information, but never longer that 5hrs. During the time all required documentation was received, the continued to provide updates on where were were in the process, it did not feel like they were doing it because it was required, it actually felt like they understood the stress and genuinely wanted to eliminate the amount of stress that comes with waiting. During the times of my uncertainty, his team continued to have faith in the process and me and being a man of faith, it really reaffirmed that my God is Able and strong when I am weak. We did our research and thought carefully before choosing a Mortgage company. Our first loan 10 years ago was the complete opposite of this... Doug and his team were so amazing to work with making my first home purchase! The process was seamless and his personalized videos were so informative and tailor-made to MY specific loan. Doug was a font of information regarding preparation for being approved by lenders, and his knowledge saved me from any of the hiccups that typically can occur in the final days before closing. From the very beginning he predicted any questions I could have had and answered them without my having to ask. I can only attribute this to his many years of experience in his field. Communication was constant and expedient.
