Bank of Pontiac, Pontiac, IL

The buyers of our house chose to use this bank for their financing. They presented their "approval letter" from this bank as a Conventional Loan. It was far from conventional- they had more requirements than a FHA loan has. I wish we never would have accepted the buyers offer, because of this bank and their ridiculous "code upgrade requiremnts" but we didn't find out about this until we were too far down the rabbit hole. Our realtor, seller, is aware of their tactics and will be on the lookout for any offers coming from buyers using this bank. I suggest if you want a smooth real estate transaction you go somewhere else for your financing.

their atm stole my debit card and left me no choice but to turn it in as stolen/fraud. been 3 weeks and still no card. and then was closed for no reason on a thursday when i tried to call and see where my debit card has been. no one has been helpful at all.

I will say this about this bank, they watch their reviews carefully. I had a negative issue with the bank and wrote a review after closing my account with the bank. I was contacted the following business day and a investigation was done as to what had happened. I will say the corrected all wrong doing and I was fully refunded.. that to me means alot.

Absolutely and totally shocked! We do all our banking at bank of Pontiac and utilize a savings account there as well. If you don’t keep at least 100.00 average in your account they charge you 12.00. If you don’t have the 12.00 in the account they close it! I am just shocked that a local bank would do this!!

Bank manager Lori at Dwight Bank of Pontiac was extremely rude when inquiring about a mistake THEIR teller made on my account. They waited 1 month to notify me regarding this mistake made by them.Lori was VERY rude and unkind. I was confused and trying to understand what had occurred They failed to contact me... neither by phone or mail.Sent regular Bank statement with no details of discrepancy. Will now be changing banks. Have banked with them for many years and all the other tellers were always courteous and kind. Lori was unprofessional and VERY RUDE!!!

I’ve banked here for going on 7 years or more went in to see about a small loan no one was there so they took my name and number. Called me back and told me flat out no they wouldn’t help me. I asked if i put half down if that would help straight out told me no again! Gentleman was rude on the phone I will be leaving this bank and taking my cash elsewhere.
