Sterling Federal Bank, Rock Falls, IL

My wife and I agave been members of this bank many years. We have bought several cars and paid them off and was never late. Our mortgage is through this bank and we have about 9 years left on it. Recently we have been dealing with Covid-19 related issues and a grandson who had an emergency brain bleed. We have always paid more than our payment. Apparently our escrow rose and because all we were going through we failed to notice it. For $5.83 the bank sent in a late notice to our credit report. We have overdraft protection but that didn’t matter. After speaking to Amy in the loan department I was told it would be removed but this morning they called my wife and said it wouldn’t. They advertise to come home to their family bank, but apparently that is just an add. They don’t care about family only their books. They could have sent us an email or called us. I know our credit union stated that they would have reached out to see if everything was okay. We will move our mortgage there and close our accounts here. Shame on all of you

My husband past away very unexpected. I am trying to go it on my own After thirty years, I have been basically overwhelmed and the ladies at the drive through and especially in side have been as understanding and as helpful then any one could ever be. Thank you and I would tell any one that is looking for a bank to go to Sterling Federal!!!!

Last Thursday I went and withdrawn $40. I went in this morning to withdraw only $20 but was told I couldn't withdraw without my father present due to my account being a minor account. Keep in mind I turned 18 two weeks ago. Very unpleasant experience.
