Spencer County Bank, Dale, IN

I recently purchased a house through Spencer County Bank. Going through the loan department was so easy! They worked with me, clearly explaining every loan repayment option! Every time I walk in the door, someone is there to welcome me and say hello! It really shows they care about me!

This bank closed my account after 1 week because they couldn’t get ahold of me. I consistently called them every week just to check my banking info on the same number, then one week goes by without contact and boom they close the account. That’s beside the point though, there’s no reason my account should’ve been closed without my permission over just 1 week of not being able to contact me. They told me I could reopen the account if I came in and signed some papers, IM IN NORTH DAKOTA, how do you expect me to drive 15 hours away just to reopen the account because of the banks mistake, I’m sorry I did not receive the call because you called the wrong number but that is not enough reason to close the account considering it was an active account that was used regularly. I have never had this happen with any other bank account. Not only that but the book keeping department sucks because a direct deposit that was supposed to be returned to my work due to the account being closed apparently got lost and is not in the records of the bank at this point. It was a large check that is now “lost” because the bank is so unorganized. Worst experience with any bank I have ever banked with, and I do not recommend this bank to anyone ever! The only thing decent I have to say about this bank is the customer service is nice. Other than that I have nothing nice to say.
