Used to really be great service from Point Breeze CU, but seems like things have changed lately. I have financed my last 5 or so autos thru PB and don’t even compare rates because it was so convenient. I applied for a boat loan recently and they couldn’t accept the fact the boat would be registered in a state other than my state of residence. Maybe they just don’t do many boat loans and didn’t seem to want to bother to learn the differences with a moored boat in a state other than primary residence.

My wife and I opened an account here with no issues. They asked to pull our credit but we simply denied and were able to open an account with no issues. They ask to see what you qualify for in the event you'd like to transfer any existing loans. If you're not interested, simply state so and deny the credit pull. The terms for the increased checking APR are clearly outlined on their website; and was also explained when we went to open an account in person.
My only gripe would be that this location does not have a card maker on site so we had to wait 5 business days for our cards to arrive in the mail; a bit longer for our checks. Other than that, it was a smooth experience.

Just make sure that when they ask your permission to pull your credit for a regular account opening you can say no and be still able to open the account. I did not like the fact that after asking twice it that was a requirement for opening an account, I was given the impression that it was a requirement and then be told after all that it was not. I did mentioned to the representative (not disclosing her name) that my ultimate goal was to refinance my car loan but did not tell her I was doing that right away so there was no reason to want to pull my credit just for a regular checking and savings account opening. That truly upset me because I hate my credit being pulled if it's not necessary since that drops the credit score.

They advertise 3% interest on checking plus but they do not disclose all the requirements on their website. It's a misleading advertisement on purpose! Make sure you sign up to switch to a checking plus account first or you don't get any interest on your checking accounts. The banks are making way to much money on our checking and savings!
The teller originally told me that you would automatically get 3% interest on checking once you met the requirements which I was already meeting for awhile. Then they tell me months later that I have to sign a piece of paper just to earn the interest when it doesn't actually change anything with my account. It's literally just a statement saying you will get 3% dividends on your checking balance. A form should not be needed for this.
I am sure a lot of people are losing 3% interest just because they didn't sign this worthless form!

Overall this place was difficult to do. When first creating my account they mad it far to difficult than it needed to be and the app was just terrible to use, being slow and confusing. Not only this but, there hours are so inconvenient, giving me only half an hour to do set things up before customer service is gone. The people there were great but this whole process was far more difficult than it needed to be.
