CheckSmart, Canton, MI

This company has recently (or perhaps always?) become a tax collection agency working on behalf of the IRS. Not sure but I tried cashing a work check with them and was told because the check didn't indicate what I was being paid for they would take it upon themselves (company policy I was told) to take out 25% of my pay in "taxes". Last time I heard, only the government can vote to make a tax not some company CEO. I am filling a complaint with the BBB and contacting my local rep to look into this.

My name is Tanya I was just there today and I have to say Karen is the best. She was so nice and friendly. I have been in customer service for 12 years and it is rare to see great customer service. But she definitely has great customer service. I would recommend anyone that goes there to ask for her.

They are understaffed (obviously since they have hiring signs all over building) but the one lady was extremely helpful & was able to help me out within 20 minutes. It sucks that you have to wait but unfortunately you're going to have to wait anywhere that has to process and approve loans. I'd give 5 stars if they had more people to help out, so that way customers aren't all pissy at you when you're trying to take care of your business & they're just trying to send western union or something quick! Highly recommended

I'd like to share my most memorable joyful experience I had today at the old CheckSmart. As I walked in the door the teller look like she didn't even want to be bothered today with anyone. And I'm pretty sure she was racist. By her demeanor and her attitude toward my Caucasian self. For cashing a check I've never went through so much it was easier getting a passport but all I had to go through. After an hour I'm going through all the paperwork and questions they were asking they finally called my boss who on a Sunday of course on the day off didn't happen to answer her cell phone which then they denied cashing my check for me. I suggest you go anywhere to your aunt's house to your grandma's to your uncle's Cabin in the Woods to cash a check more than I would this stupid place have a nice day

Was having an issue cashing a check, went to 2 places & no one would cash it. I went up here & Karen helped me. Very nice, professional & she got my issue sorted out & checked cashed within minutes! She's the best

Shelby and Karen are amazing if you need money quick she’s your girl she got me over half my paycheck and less than 30 minutes easy process definitely recommend!!! 10/10 service

Great customer service. The clerk Karen was very helpful and efficient. She was informative and personable. She was very eager and helpful with what I needed done. I would definitely recommend coming to this location.
