Members First Credit Union, Harrison, MI

This CU is god awful. I had the unfortunate experience of having an account with them for years. I could not believe the amount of times I had issues with them and they were never resolved unless it was at my expense. The coupe de grace was when I had PAID to have a skip a pay on my loan during the first couple months of Covid. The woman I worked with, Sue, did not perform her job correctly and document the skip. Instead, it hit my credit report for missed payments. Then she refused to fix any of it. They also started my car loan on an auto pull 4 days outside of my grace period and it went like that for 8 months before anything was done about it. So pretty much none of the payments for 8 months were going to principal and I was accruing late charges. Sure, partially my fault because I wasn’t hawking my bank statements but good grief. Way to capitalize. The issues just went on and on, I wouldn’t suggest anyone bank with this awful institution. I payed off my loans and closed that account asap!

Used to be a really good bank, now they come off as more rude and heartless. I've had nothing but issues from them this year. Even applied for a life happens loan and was told they would get back to me by the end of the day, thats was a week ago. Its pretty sad that i have so many issue with my credit union but go down to a bank that aint even mine and they help me faster smh.

The credit union as a whole was good to me. But!!! The manager at the Harrison branch is a very rude person. I will be closing my account and moving on! Uncalled for rudeness! Total disrespect is all I feel when she’s working.

Everyone is friendly here in Harrison and at all the locations I've been to: Clare, Mt. Pleasant, and Midland as well. Loans are approved very quickly and tellers inform you of things that can save you more money or help you in other ways. I don't pay any fees and get great interest rates on everything. I had never heard of high yield saving accounts, but a teller set one up for me and I'm making much more interest now! Credit unions are so much better than banks and these guys are the best! I highly recommend!

Had a wonderful experience switching our truck loan over, minimal questions and smiling faces when we went in for a loan for a new refrigerator and we have had nothing but good things since!!! The only thing I don't like is the ATM rarely works and the hours, my husband doesn't get out of work until 5 so it's extremely hard for him to get there in time.

I've used this union over three years--not anymore! I get treated with disrespect because I had a large check to deposit, then it's put into the wrong account. Then charged me a $7.50 service charge because I didn't "use my account enough last month." Over the course of these years I've deposited a lot of money. I've taken out several loans, but one single month I didn't use it enough they slam me with a fee. It's ok I'll take all my money elsewhere, instead of a place with endless service fees for "being a member."

My husband and I have been trying to sell our home we own and needed to do a home equity loan and take money from our house to buy another property. We have been working with Dallas Gerow and it has gone very smoothly and just signed the paperwork finalizing and will receive the monies in a week.. getting it the day we close. They are helping us with the wire transfer in order to get it to the title company on the other property that day. They are very much appreciated and thank them for a fast response in making our dreams come true.
