We use Commercial bank for Business and Personal Banking. I couldn’t say more about the services that they offer and the customer service to support them. Whether it was navigating the PPP Loan rules and regulations or securing the best program and interest rate for a Business Loan. They consistently came through and were always looking out for our best interest. You couldn’t convince me to switch banks.

Commercial Bank of Hastings, and specifically Chelsey Foster, is a total superstar in my book. Not only have they been a GREAT business partner and previously lender for one of our medical portfolio properties, but they also were the very first of our lenders to contact us (when the state virus shutdown was initially anticipated) to suggest possible work-around's for keeping our loans current with them if or when our building tenants didn't pay their rents?! In 33 years in commercial real estate, I've NEVER had a lender call me to discuss possible work-around's. And while we ultimately came up with loan repayment reductions and/or deferral plans with our other lenders, Chelsey Foster's immediate and proactive approach was both refreshing and addressed a serious issue that we were not certain how we would handle. Not only did they call us with possible solutions, but also helped us craft a plan that meet our specific needs, which they completed and implemented within a few days of the state mandated shutdown, just ahead of the loss of a significant tenant's income. I call that LEADERSHIP - they blazed a fresh trail where other lenders were still trying to figure out what to do! Then, when we started looking at the Federal Government's PPP grant/loan program with great confusion, Chelsey again stepped in and provided us with wonderful proactive direction, which resulted in securing this funding within just a couple of weeks, which was a godsend for all of our employees who never had to declare unemployment during the shutdown even though they couldn't work. Therefore, I would highly recommend these guys for your next business or commercial property loan without any qualification. It's the ATM Again! What follows is my opinion of Commercial Bank, (Hastings branch), based on my first hand experience.... Commercial Bank has come up with a novel way to extract even more cash from the pockets of the good people of Hastings. It now charges TWO fees when using one of its ATMs. On top of their already high ATM usage fee, they've tacked on an additional five, ($5) dollar fee. This type of excessive fee charging crosses the boundary of what is reasonable, customary and fair. I'm surprised that such overcharging has found its way to this small farming community.....Hastings, Michigan is the quintessential all American town. (Normally predatory ATM fees are reserved for the back alley, foreigner owned bodegas of big cities). In fact, Commercial Bank here's a question for you: Precisely how many pennies, if that, does it cost you to dispense $100 from one of your ATMs? Your answer will be revealing. It will either show us how inefficiently your bank is run , or the degree to which you are overcharging your customers. I'm not an account holder at Commercial Bank. This factor shouldn't absolve any business serving the community from fair pricing.

I'm always greeted with a smile. The tellers are always professional, courteous, and helpful. I could use a bank that is closer to my home, but I really like these people... they're loyal to me, so I'm loyal to them.
