CheckSmart, Livonia, MI

Been a customer at this location for awhile. Beth Lawrence and Brittney were the best. The crew there now are not as customer friendly. They are so dry and robotic and even slower than before. I do like the sign in on the computer opposed to signing all of those papers. Friendly faces and faster service would be a plus.

My experience was good w/ the Plymouth location until they did not inform me that the payment plan is based on a rolling calendar. I've been going to CheckSmart for almost 2 years and never missed one payment. If you have 8 loans on file, you qualify for a payment plan. They will divide your payments into 3 payments. Well I went in to make payment arrangements like I normally did only to find out that I no longer qualify because one of my loans fell off and I no longer had 8 loans on file. If they would have informed me the previous time that I would not qualify for payment plan next time, I would have known to make other plans. They surly can call you to remind you that your payment is due on payday, but cannot inform a person when they no longer qualify for payment plan option. I thought I had a rapport w/ the staff and felt they really were there to assist people who needed financial help, but I see this is not true.Then they couldn't do anything to help me because the plan is thorough the State. Now my bank account is in the negative and I refuse to take out anymore loans through these types of services. This is a warning for others to make sure to check that you have 8 loans on file otherwise you will end up like me. They never explained this to me, so I hope this will come in handy to others.

Beth, Lawrence are great always polite and friendly. Very professional and always willing to help out the new employees. Always ask how are you doing. sometimes you feel a little shame going thru hard times and have to borrow money, they never ask any questions or make you feel bad about it.

I called them and asked how much it would be to cash a check. They said I would have to come in for a price. I told them specifically I just wanted a price, do not run the numbers. The price was about $175 more than the first price I was quoted. They ran the verification numbers, so I had to go back to my tax preparer, where I sit as I type this, completely annoyed and wondering if I will be able to get my check cashed at all. Even if this goes well checksmart wasted hours of my day, and had ridiculous prices

The clerk behind the counter named Felicity was very helpful, aknowledgeable and patient with me today. I definitely recommend anybody and everyone to visit this location

I know if I’m ever in need of extra cash this is the place to go to! Felicity is very knowledgeable and made my visit quick & simple. Other staff members here are also very friendly and non judgmental. Thanks checksmart team!
