Grand Marais State Bank, Grand Marais, MN

I have been involved in banking as a director of a bank holding company and as a bank attorney ( not for this bank) for many years so I am very familiar with banks and bank operations. We started our banking relationship with Grand Marais State Bank some 20 years ago. The staff at GMSB have all been very friendly and the service we receive is very professional. The bank is well run and is quite responsive to our needs. We are glad they have been a key part of our community for so many years.

Am I truly the first to review this bank? Having taken that position, I am obligated to offer that my personal and business needs have been met principally by Stephanie (sp? sorry!) who responds to our every whim with grace and efficiency. Okay, really, she is right on the beam, every time and for every thing. We have a commercial account and she is marvelous. I cannot think of an alternative to this bank as she is so responsive to our needs. My wife has 3 business accounts, my son has his personal account and I do what I am told. Without reservation, one should consider this bank for your requirements for swift and capable ability.

The staff are always very helpful and friendly, the online portal is better than my major Canadian banks, and the support for remote banking is incredible. GMSB was able to work with me, and my newly formed business to finance a commercial property in Grand Marais, where other banks simply couldn't. I am a Canadian resident and with a new business in the USA, all the other banks didn't have an ability to finance a real estate purchase. GMSB was able to have a real person assess the loan and we were able to get the deal done. Thanks a bunch!
