Jennifer Lindsey I've spoken with now multiple times and she is especially the perfect blend of personable and professional, keep her around!

Really a great personal bank that actually will go out of their way to make their customer's happy and accepted no matter the issue. This Credit Union, I feel, is for the people, not the tyrants. The first day I walked in the worker was very kind and understanding and was willing to help me even though I owed another bank. They opened me a second chance account and told me upfront when I could turn my second chance into a regular checking account but still let me bank with them and truly felt my urgency and need and also understood that the last bank, TD bank, over changed me in fees to the amount of 1000 dollars! What a nightmare! But self help really helped me understand how the system worked. Great staff, great customer service, so if you're looking for a neighborhood friendly bank then this is your BANK!

My wife and I were looking to buy our first house. We took the first time home buyers class and we're very excited to get into our own house. Now my wife's median credit score is below the 580 that credit unions usually work with, but I figured I'd at least get the ball rolling on the whole process and see what happens or at least get some input on what would be best on getting the score up and coming back in the future. So I went in there and talked to the loan lady. One of the first questions I asked her was what credit scores can you work with? She said 580 and higher. I said my wife's score wasn't at that point yet. Now at that point in the conversation, I was ready to take whatever advice she had for me and come back a year or two later with a better score. She ended up saying though, that the lady that she sends the info to is willing to take the highest of the three scores instead of the median to make the loan work. I was excited about that because my wife's highest score fit into that statement. So I paid for a pull on our credit scores and gave them all the info they needed. Now when the second lady got ahold of me, she said she couldn't use my wife's income cause her median credit score was too low. When I addressed the fact that the first lady said she could work with the highest score, she had no idea what I was talking about and when I called the first lady back and asked for clarification on what she told me about it, she avoided it and kept referring to the email she got saying they can't work with my wife's income because of her score. At that point in the process I felt completely embarrassed and deceived. I ended up not getting approved for the loan which I expected to happen and I wouldn't have even gone through with the loan process at that time if it wasn't for that false pretense that I was told about working with my wife's highest score. I felt like my time and money was wasted.

Self-help is very good at showing me ways to save money. They have good programs concerning buying houses. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable.

While everyone at Self-Help is very friendly and helpful, I especially love going to see Pat Funicello. She is very knowledgeable and kind and it's so nice to be in the presence of someone like her when you're navigating finances.

The manager Dawn is super nice has helped me tremendously with my business account always there when I need her.
