It's a good bank but I don't like the fact that they hold people money if a holiday is on your payday I feel like that's wrong I have too get this switched .

I happened to go in this credit union today to open an account, and I may say, I was pleasantly surprised at the low key atmosphere and the level of professionalism! It was just the right balance of doing your job well and making me feel 100 percent like I was a human being. Everything you would expect from a small town banking location of a major credit union. I was made to feel like an old friend that they hadn't seen in awhile. Courtesy. Respect. Professionalism. All the way. Thank you Lee!

I opened an account and now I have one of the officers helping me build my credit so I can start my business. I am very thankful that this credit union really helps the community. I am a member of another credit union that would never help with the issues I am having and most of the time, the staff is not friendly at all. Very thankful for the staff at Self Help Credit Union on West Vernon!

Nice people, old-fashioned banking, up-and-coming credit union with a community oriented mission that I'm willing to support in spite of inconveniences due to being brand-new. Yes, big banks and credit unions have all the bells and whistles that we get hooked on, but they're also pretty impersonal and profit-motivated. (Even credit unions can be profit-motivated!) SHCU is human and humane, and I believe in what they do. Plus, I'm all for staying away from the conglomerates and mega-businesses when I can.

my husband and i keep having issues every time he deposit his check. They deposit it into the saving acct and then like today the system goes down and we cant transfer or do anything. So much for paying my bills on time. this is not the first. will be getting a new bank acct somewhere else.
