I lost my card & put in an order for a new one, and I was told it would take ten days to get to me. No problem. After two weeks of waiting (through the holiday) I finally call back and ask why I haven't received it. I am told I will get a call back to discuss the issue once the (I suppose manager?) is back in their office. I received no call back. After 3 hours I finally call & am told she is helping another customer and they'll call me back. Again. So I wait another half-hour before I am told the card order was never put in & I am going to have to wait another 10 days to receive my new card. Now I'm out over 20 days without ability to pay, and I can't access my money through my mobile account as my lost card has been shut off. Barely an apology from staff. Utterly ridiculous. EDIT: They ended up reaching out to me and provided some compensation for the issue. I appreciate the gesture, and have adjusted my review from one star to reflect their concerns that this issue be resolved. Thank you.

We love spirit of America credit union. Cheryl is awesome! We have done business with her for many years. She is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. She is our personal banker and has become a friend. She always takes time to answer our questions and there is a fast turn around time on loan approvals. We trust her and that says a lot! Spirit of America is an awesome credit union because of the people they have working there—they care about you. You get personal customer service which is so different from large banking institutions. We’ve always had positive experiences here and have been completely satisfied with their service. We highly recommend this credit union!

Spirit of America not only has great deals on loans, they have the best staff of any bank I have ever dealt with. They truly care about all their members! They will always try to help you with your needs and tell you ways to raise your credit scores. They do lots of events for members family's throughout the year aand collect items for kids in need at Christmas time. They really do have great values and ethics!

Danielle has always been quick and easy with which to communicate. I have had two car loans with Spirit of America and my family and I have been members for over 40 years. This last car loan was important to me as it was my dream car. Spirit gave me a good deal and it was wrapped up in less than 10 days. A family credit union...

I have banked with Spirit of America Federal Credit Union since 2012 and have had not but great experiences with them. SOA treats their customers with respect and are extremely helpful in explaining how the checking and savings accounts work, the obligations, and what options I have as a member. They are very knowledgeable about other services they offer and which ones would be best for me as a member. I would highly recommend SOA to my family and Friends who are eligible to be members.

People are very kind here, however it’s very unreliable for shared banking. Hours vary, you must go into the lobby by ringing the bell, then they close the lobby randomly for 4 hours so you can’t complete your shared banking. You can have the best coffee in town but if unavailable randomly, people will stop going because they don’t know if you’ll be open or closed and find the business unreliable.
