I hired Tom O'Hara of Edwards, CO (who was with Affiliated Mortgage and who currently works for Homebridge Financial) to refinance the loan on my home - it was a cash out loan. At the time, I had been recently divorced and had a small child at home. At the closing table, Tom decided to add 2.00% (points) to my closing costs - which increased my bottom line by $8000.00. It was a classic bait & switch - Mortgage Fraud. Nothing changed from the time of initial disclosures to closing, nothing.
Since I was under the gun (per my separation agreement) to payoff certain debts by a certain time, I had no choice whatsoever but to allow Tom to steal from me. Of course, Tom knew this. Tom stealing $8000.00 had serious consequences for me.
I'm embarrassed to say that I've been in the mortgage business for 39 years here in Denver -- Tom O'Hara did this to me at a very vulnerable time in my life - predatory lending. I feel compelled to share my experience in order to free myself from long standing feelings of victimization.
Tom's actions hurt my child. I CANNOT recommend Tom for any mortgage transaction - purchase or refinance. Had this occured recently, Tom would have had his license pulled. It was not legal then and it's not legal now.
Did it take me awhile to get around to writing this review? Yes, I had a baby at home in diapers and I was alone and afraid of Tom O'Hara - he'd done enough damage. Now, my son is 24 yo, and well on his way. I finally feel safe enough to write this long overdue review. I want nothing from Tom O'Hara. Tom was a friend and had been a colleague for years. That's what makes this all so egregious.

Bill's team is amazing, I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and knowledge they provided me. I was pre-approved before with another lender and they pulled me credit and said they could not help me. I called Bill’s team and they reviewed my credit explained what I need to do to improve my score and in 60 days I was GOOD TO GO! They explained to me my rate, payments and what my closing cost would be. As a first-time home buyer, I felt very informed and comfortable. Not sure if the other reviews are talking about the same company because my experience was exceptional. They also call me every few weeks to see how my home search is going which is a plus. Makes me feel like I am not forgotten, can’t wait to find my house so I can start the whole process. Thank you Bill!!!

I always recommend Homebridge to all my clients needing mortgages. I also used them for my own loan. Bill Croteau and his team work hard and keep you updated through the entire process until the job is done, making the mortgage process as smooth as possible. I have nothing but great things to say about them and will continue to recommend them in the future!

My home loan is through Homebridge. I called on 4/20/20 to ask about options for forbearance. I have a small travel business that has been heavily impacted by the coronavirus and needed to explore options. I was told over the phone that I could delay 3 month's payments and on the fourth month would be required to pay the total amount of mortgage payments for 4 months. I was outraged by the idea that if a customer could not pay one month then they surely could not pay 4. I told the rep that I absolutely did not want to go on forbearance under these terms. On 5/3/20, I received a call from Homebridge asking if I would like to get on a forbearance plan. I again declined citing the same reasons as the 4/20/20 call. Sometime around May 4th or 5th I was put on forbearance anyways without my knowledge or approval. To my understanding, I was not even eligible because I was current with my mortgage payments. During the months of April-May 2020, I proceed to make 5 advance payments, bringing my account paid through Aug 2020. I did this after receiving grant money knowing that it could be the last money I had for some time. I proceeded to make on time or early payments through early October. I called again on Oct 13th to officially request forbearance since I was out of money for good. I was told to intentionally miss my 11/1/20 payment to become eligible and did just that. I called again on 11/9/20 and officially requested forbearance and was told that I had been placed on the program. I was told not to worry about notices or phone calls, that I was definitely on forbearance. This never happened. I have had multiple notices on my front door trying to foreclose on my house and have spent months trying to get Homebridge to correct the mistakes. I have had over 100 point drops in negative credit reporting due to the errors and still I have not had resolution. I call 2-3 times each week, 2 hours per call, to try to get someone to help. I requested all call records multiple times. The utter negligence is disgraceful. There is no reason for these repeated mistakes made by nearly a dozen employees. Do not let these people have any control over your family home.

Just recently closed on a refinance with HomeBridge after purchasing my first home with them 2 years ago. Bill and his team were awesome to work with now and the first time we used them. We saved so much money on this refinance that I can’t begin to thank them enough. If you’re looking for a mortgage lender call HomeBridge they’re honest and reliable and will always be there for you every step of the way
