NBT Bank, Cortland, NY

I have always had exceptional service here.The staff is kind and courteous. The wait has never been long. There is usually an open teller when I walk in or drive up. I don't always agree wih the company policies since NBT took over, but it is an adequate bank, and the people are great. Especially Brian, who always seems to be smiling.

I've had more than one bad experience at this location, however I work in sales so I understand how this type of work can be.. that being said it takes an awful lot for me to complain. I feel the staff here is completely unhelpful and they lack basic customer service skills. I had an issue with cashing a check and was told there was nothing they could do.. since this is my least favorite location I took my check went to the main St location and was more than pleased with the effort the staff there took in resolving my issue. They were able to solve a majority of my problem and actually seemed like they cared about the problem.

Tony Dannibale, NBT Bank, 1125, State RTE 222, Cortland, NY AVP, Retail Market Manager, was a true pleasure to work with and went above and beyond in helping me during the covid lockdown. I would highly recommend his branch to anyone that is looking for a personal contact that will get the job done!

I was a retail and commercial customer for over 20 years in Rome NY before I sold my home & business and moved to Cortland. The Cortland branch turned me down for heloc even though I have more $$ than the heloc I requested in my accounts and my current home is fully paid off. Disappointing to say the least. I would have given them 1 star if it wasn't for the positive experience I had had with the Rome NY branch in the past. I closed my account yesterday and moved all of my banking to another company. I also sold my NBT stock. Customer service and loyalty are broken in America which is sad.

Pertaining to the drive thru ATM machine: it tried very hard to eat some of the $20 bills it was dispensing to me. The bottom two bills were ejected *still inside the bottom lip of the cash dispenser* and I had to wrestle them free. Pinched my poor little fingers and everything ☹️ Anyways, might wanna have the machine looked at guys. Otherwise, I got all the money. 🤷🏻‍♂️
