Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, is a comprehensive, independent institution grounded in the liberal arts. Our mission is to “help students develop the intellect, character, and skills required for enlightened, ethical, and productive lives in the global community of the 21st century.”
We know that a college education is a significant investment for many families, and we want to be sure our students receive the best value for their investment.
Here’s an unbiased truth from someone who’s got a 4.0 and making 6 figures straight outta college.
There’s an issue when Amazon customer service is leagues above Marist financial services.
If I could describe them in 3 words:
- Condescending
- Impatient
- Disconnected
If I could describe my experience in a nutshell:
- Rarely follow up on calls.
- Hesitant to identify who they are
- Will put you on hold, because god forbid you
have to grab a pen.
- Mis-advise you then implicitly blame you.
- Constant *sighs*, *eye rolling* and more from
the older employees.
Their Motto:
“The employees are always right, make sure to rub it in.”
I shouldn’t leave there questioning if I spoke to someone different would they have actually helped me or did they lie to me to get me out the door.
When most “clients” are college kids or parents who don’t really understand finance, they have to be understanding and patient. They’re not going to be able to clearly communicate their problem; it’s the employees job to listen and try to understand.
Weird that a college kids who works at a pretty big company has more professionalism than them. I dedicate my self to my work and ensure my clients are happy. I don’t ignore that phone call or email at the end of the day. I value my clients more than I value myself, simply because I am professional.
Gave 5 stars so people would actually read it; not all the kiss-up from co-workers.

Took away my grants and scholarships for no reason without explanation... the requirements were a 3.2 gpa and be a full time standee but I finished with a 3.6 GPA and was a full time student with 15 credis. Huge diapoitmnet to go here as the only ok thing about the school is its on the river. Class room look like they the 50s and professors don't even know the basics of computer usage. Tranfer or don't go here.
