Oxford Capital Mortgage, Rochester, NY

I am a new loan officer with Oxford Capital Mortgage and love working with these wonderful people! I came in with lots of people skills but very little knowledge on the mortgage process! I have had tons of support and have learned so much from them in the last six months! If you want to find a good team that truly cares about their clients this is the place to go!!

Avoid at all costs! This was the worst experience I have had with a home mortgage loan working with Nick. I started my application in February 2022 and by the middle of July 2022 (5 months!!), we still were not able to close. The only way Nick would respond to me was if I threatened to cancel the loan that I ended up doing. He kept stringing me along saying next week we will close then another document was requested. I was hoping a broker might make things easier, I was sorely wrong. I ended up losing the money spent on an appraisal too that Nick guaranteed I could get transfer to another bank if I needed to. I started the process directly with a local bank and literally closed in 3 weeks. Try anywhere else before Oxford capital.

One of the best parts about buying my new house was working with Oxford. Nick was so responsive and helped me through the whole process. I never had a worry, Nick and his team made this a great experience.

We had a very smooth mortgage experience with Capital Mortgage and Jeff Maroney. Jeff made sure we right on schedule the whole way through. A very positive experience.

I would recommend working with this company. I was referred to Samuel Cino by my local credit union and he has been in my corner for almost 10 months of house hunting. On my first phone call, Sam said two things, one of which was “I will put my best foot forward” and he did because when we locked in the rate no one was able to compete with it besides one other broker and they matched it. Sam also suggested to tweak my down payment to get more lender credit to help with closing costs! The second thing was a little tip about how to tell if another mortgage broker has experience in the field or not and it proved true. Sam has decades in the field. I would highly recommend Sam to any first time home buyer since he does a great job explaining everything and anything, and will always be available for a text or phone call. We locked in a rate for 45 days and closed in 38 days. ** The only negative thing I will say is that I was not made aware of a mortgage commitment fee of $1000 (only knew about the origination fee) but I honestly feel that since they see it everyday it just never came up in conversation because it’s a very common fee. Use Sam for whatever your mortgage needs may be!!
