Island Federal Credit Union, Smithtown, NY

Back in June I bought a new car, and the dealer for some reason got my loan through this island Federal. Which, I'm 45yrs old born and raised on this island and never heard of them before. So, my personal bank accounts are kept with chase. Which if you don't have an actual bank account with federal, they make it nearly impossible to make a payment from an outside bank. Every month I have to call federal to make my payment, get transferred several times, and need my routing and account number. Because they refuse to take my debit card over the phone, and they refuse to store my account info. This has been nothing but a headache. Some of the employees here can also be very rude (these are YOUR company policies, not mine) and some employees barely speak English. Now I went as far as explaining all of this to my lawyer and finding out about getting my loan transferred to a more feasible bank. So keep in mind, if you don't already have a personal account here, then most definitely do not take a loan from here!

I have called for Over 2 weeks can’t speak to anyone in the Hauppauge Branch. I don’t get how They can be so careless and rude. I canT even speak to someone about a pre approval so I can make an offer on my dream home. The employees run the show there and it’s really bad on every level. Even the managers don’t get back to any emails beware banking at Hauppauge.

Today was my second visit to the Hauppauge location. Both times I was assisted by Christian. He could not have been more helpful or polite; All my questions were answered and needs were met. Would highly recommend visiting this branch and asking for Christian!
