Capital One Bank, Southampton, NY

The most ridiculous banking experience ever! The bank's Southampton branch ATM eats my credit card (european) for no apparent reason. The next day when I go to ask for it back, armed with 3 pieces of ID, I am told it is protocol not to return credit cards that are not Capital One cards. On what basis they have no idea of course but it's protocol. The 2 bank staff persons are completely unhelpful and insist all I have to do is get a new card despite repeatedly explaining to them that to get a new card from Europe is complicated and time consuming and I am on vacation with no credit card and no way of getting money. No manager was seemingly available to help either. I have never encountered such inflexible stupidity in a bank, anywhere!

Conroy at the Southampton branch is great! He was the most helpful, kind and polite person at the bank. I would give him 5 stars and the bank 1 if I could.

I’ve been banking with capital one since they were North Fork and I need a small town branch with personal service . Capital one is now closing all of their branches like the great depression if you ask them they will tell you they are going to online banking , however there are far better online banks that don’t charge fees like they do . If you run a small business And need to talk to someone good luck as for these capital one café coffee shops they are mirage in the desert . staff tends to be rude because they are overworked as all the people are funneling into the few branches left open , The only happy employee I can see is Samuel L Jackson . I will be closing all of my accounts with capital one as many people are here on Eastern Long Island.

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. I've banked here for the past 10 years and I would never change banks :)

Time passes and with it new things, Capital One Hampton Bays closed the doors, alternative to Southampton, but a single ATM complicates things, mainly if this unique Cashier does not receive deposits on a Saturday afternoon, this complicates everything, Maybe it would be time to look to the future and look for something closer in Hampton Bays, I loved Capital One, but now I do not know.
