Place is a dump and doesn't care about their members. You're just a number here, not a member. They don't care one bit about you or your money. Wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to them. The reviews from the last year or two on here are priceless. Americu is very classy, not. Go to first source, they treat you normal and are actually professional.

I go thru Americu for everything and always have the most hassle free experience with all my banking needs! I always go thru Muniba F, she always goes above and beyond for me and always makes my banking super easy! I can never thank her and her team enough for all they do for me!

I have to say I love Americu have been with them for over 15 years. I go to the Commercial Drive location as it is near my home. Yesterday I went and was truly disappointed. This location has never been overly friendly, but Yesterday was the worst. I was at the drive thru waited for one customer ahead of me, it took 12 minutes for this customer to finish. I finally pull up for my turn. Sent the tube over and waited again, for like 3-4 minutes. Another customer comes up to the other drive thru, the clerk does their transaction first then as that customer leaves she comes back to me and finally does my transaction. She couldn't keep track of who was there first, and who's tube had been waiting. Then to top it all of she did the transaction with no thank you, nothing she might as well said her but you're not worth my time. If she doesn't like her career choice maybe she should get another. This was about3 o'clock Yesterday 6/22/22

Can not get any personal service, you walk in and they tell you to call a call center and then the call center can not fix any of your issues. Pick another bank.

Excellent service! I never had a problem that AmeriCU couldn't solve for me, even the ones that seemed unsolvable (like putting the wrong account number on my tax return). They do all of my money transfers, handle my mortgage and my car loan. I would recommend them any time for any business, small or large, they take it seriously and do everything possible to help you. Run. Don't walk away. I started banking with Americu as Adirondack charged too many asinine fees. Well, I had issue after issue with their complacent staff (as detailed below) which caused me to do my banking elsewhere. Back in 2017-'18, someone got ahold of my debit card number. Fraud detection picked up on it fine, and I got a new credit card. Normal deal. However, I had to call them time and time again to have the money refunded to my account. Each time I called they told me it would be in by the end of the week, and that went on for a month in a half until I lost my patience and finally said "I WANT IT IN MY ACCOUNT TODAY." Only then did they put the funds back into my account. Back in 2021 I was overdrawn on my account. I deposited a check much larger than my overdrawn amount and my account glitched and had me in the negative by some arbitrary number. Again, I requested 1) and immediate correction of my account and 2) a refund for the overdrawn penalties accrued. They only corrected my account. Each time I filled out a ticket to have my account refunded, every department told me another department does that. (Same thing happened with the incident detailed above). It wasn't until I threatened to report them to the FDIC they finally refunded me and called me back sheepishly to make sure I was satisfied. Due to COVID I fell behind on my car payment. It got repossessed (my fault.) However, when I went to the bank to pay down the amount needed and have it released, I explicitly asked them if there would be an additional charge a la the towing company. They flat out told me no. So I called the company that repossessed my car and they told me, in fact, there would be a fee. Good thing I verified, because Americu either doesn't care or doesn't have a clue what's going on. This company has the most lackluster and careless people at the helm. Which, when it comes to who's in charge of your money, spells disaster for the average consumer. If Americu were the last bank on earth I'd be keeping my money under my mattress. Edit: forgot an instance. I had a checking account previously that I closed and got a joint account with an ex. When we split I went to this location and said "I'd like to reopen my account with this (specific account number from a voided check) account number." The representative said "Okay". Not only did they not reopen that account, they neglected to tell me they had to open a new account with a new account number. So I tried paying rent at a new apartment and my check bounced. I was a brand new tenant and my credibility already took a massive hit. These people are the most ineffectual wastes of company payroll and slimier than a city sewer. I repeat, DON'T bank with them.
